I have seen many versions of Bruschetta, which is essentially grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with extra-virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. My mum was asking me to bake a batch of the matcha cake I made for my bday earlier on. She wanted to treat her friends to cakes this weekend. I baked the cake in a large square pan and cut into half. Went out with lyn today to celebrate my bday. We had our usual drinks at Starbucks. And couldn't resist ordering one of their muffins(blueberry). It was moist and filled with juicy blueberries. I baked his favourite brownie today. It was the same recipe as my previous one. Except, I replaced the almond extract with vanilla extract. It turned out rich, with just the right amount of sweetness. Hee...I gave most of them to him. And he said it was very good. =)

My first attempt at cooking chicken katsu turned out ok only. lolz. Coz I'm short of one ingredient-- mirin! My mum made a mistake and got me rice vinegar instead of mirin(Japanese rice wine). I made these brownies yesterday. It was a different recipe, from the old one I usually use. It came out beautifully. Deep rich chocolatey taste and just the right fudgyness. Though I find the almond taste slightly too strong. Next time, I will just replace it with vanilla extract. I used cut-outs from parchment paper and sprinkle icing sugar for decorations.
